Kim Chandler

PWCenter Faculty

Kim Chandler E-RYT is the founder and director of Innerlight Center for Yoga & Meditation in Middletown, RI, where she teaches both yoga and Proprioceptive Writing® (PW). She also is a past program director at Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA.

Kim was first introduced to PW in 1991 at the PW Center in Portland, Maine, where she said she experienced a remarkable freedom: She could hear and explore her own private thoughts in the company of others. This was the beginning of 30+ years of continued practice and study that is ongoing today.

She completed the PW Instructor Program with Drs. Metcalf and Simon in 2005 and has continued in a teaching apprenticeship with Linda Trichter Metcalf, as well as assisting at PW Immersions. Kim teaches at Kripalu and other private retreat centers, where she sometimes combines the exploration of consciousness through body and mind in a workshop, Awakening the Thinking/Feeling Self: Yoga & PW.

From the first, I was struck by a similarity between PW and my practice of meditation-in-motion on the yoga mat. In the Write, my mind was in motion, turning this way and that as I inquired into my own thought and feeling. The effect was exhilarating and quieting at the same time. PW continues to be a great ally in a life of self-inquiry and discovery.
